Darjeeling

First planted in 1899, Goomtee Estate is located in the Kurseong Valley. Tea bushes planted between 3000 – 6000 feet are routinely harvested. A prominent feature of the garden is the Mahandi River that originates in northern part of the estate. Waterfalls and dense forest can also be found throughout the region. Goomtee is Nepalese which means “place of turning”. This China-jat (variety) tea offers a very well balance cup with a smooth finish. Prominent green notes accent the recognizable muscatel flavor and floral aroma. The first flush designation means that this tea was picked in spring during the first harvest of the year. Optimum brew time: One round teaspoon for two infusions. Brewing temperature: 3 minutes at 170-180 degrees F. Caffeine/6 oz.: 50-60 mg Content: 3 oz/85 g of black tea.
